When Morris began excavating for the new extension he soon realised that all was not well with our sewage drainage system. The previous owners of the property had contracted builders who illegally re-diverted the mains sewage drain. This was a major problem as it involved informing Anglian Water of the illegal re-diversion of the sewage pipe. Anglian Water were very pessimistic about the situation and from late July - early August 2011 it looked as though we would be forced to compromise the planned extension.
During this time Morris was very supportive and pro-active. He maintained a professional dialogue with Anglian Water, negotiating a solution that enabled the project to move forward without compromising our planned extension nor the public sewage system we share with our neighbours.
Morris contratced a local Civil Engineer to submit plans for the re-positioning of an Anglian Water inspection cover; in addition Morris also submitted plans and completed the work to bring the sewage pipe work up to Anglian Water legal requirements. The re-positioning and rebuilding of the inspection cover was all carried out by Morris. The work was inspected and approved by Anglian Water in early August 2011.
